Halloween is always more fun when the whole community gets involved, and Arcola is getting ready for an evening filled with costumes, candy and plenty of reasons to head downtown.

The annual Arcola Trunk or Treat returns on Saturday, October 31, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., bringing families, businesses, organizations and community members together for a fun and festive Halloween tradition. Participating vehicles will line up beginning on West Main Street and wrap around to North Locust Street near the Broom Palace.

A Downtown Full of Treats

Trunk or Treat gives children and families the chance to make their way through a lineup of decorated vehicles while collecting plenty of Halloween treats along the way. Each trunk brings something a little different to the event. Some may be spooky, some silly and others completely over the top.

That creativity is part of what makes the event such a fun community tradition. Families are encouraged to dress up, bring their candy buckets and enjoy an afternoon downtown surrounded by neighbors, friends and local

organizations.

Want to Host a Trunk?

The event is not only for businesses. Community groups, churches, clubs, families and individuals are all invited to participate by decorating a vehicle and handing out treats. Registration is currently open for anyone who would like to host a trunk. Participants can get creative with decorations, costumes and themes while helping make the event a memorable experience for local children.

Make an Evening of Halloween in Arcola

Trunk or Treat is just one part of the Halloween fun happening in Arcola on October 31. After Trunk or Treat wraps up, the evening continues with the Witches Walk at 5:45 p.m., where participants can compete for honors including Best Witch Costume and Best Cackle.

A downtown Halloween party is also scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., giving families even more reason to stick around after collecting their candy. With costumes, decorated trunks, community activities and plenty of Halloween spirit, it is shaping up to be a full evening of fun.

Community Traditions Bring People Together

Events like Trunk or Treat are about more than candy. They create an opportunity for families to spend time together, local organizations to get involved and neighbors to connect in the heart of the community.

That kind of community spirit is part of what makes Arcola special and one of the reasons Green Mill Village is proud to call the area home. Whether you are planning to bring the kids, decorate a trunk or simply stop downtown to see the costumes and creativity, mark your calendar and join the fun this Halloween.
