The Taste of the Prairie- Friday, July 18th and Saturday July 19th

Arcola, IL-July 11, 2014— It is no surprise to drive down an Illinois country road to find yourself surrounded by wheat, corn and soybeans plus rolling pastures filled with cattle, sheep and pigs. According to the Department, nearly 28 million acres, almost 80 percent of the state’s total land is working farms. So it is no surprise that for many of Illinois’ youth, they grow up in a rural setting and dream of one day owning or managing a farm of their own.

It is easy to throw a child in to extracurricular activities like summer traveling teams or summer camps but there is an alternative for those kids that know John Deere and Case as a household name.
